17 Things You Didn’t Know About Left Handed People

Most right-handed individuals never consider the challenges, benefits and quirks that left-handed people face. There have been many myths, both good and bad, about being a lefty living in a world dominated by right-handed people. You might not be aware of some fascinating and fun facts about being left-handed, even if you are a lefty yourself.

RISKS FOR LEFTIES

Over the years, many studies have shown that left-handed individuals are more likely to suffer from certain conditions. These include dyslexia and ADHD. They may also be more susceptible to psychological disorders. Scientists are still studying the reasons for why lefties tend to be more susceptible to certain conditions, including dyslexia, ADHD and psychological disorders. However some believe that it is because the brain functions differently in lefties and righties. Other studies, however, have found little evidence to link left-handedness with disorders like schizophrenia. The jury is still out.

LEFTIES GET HEALTH BENEFITS

Numerous studies have proven that being left-handed does not affect your health. In some cases, research has shown that lefties have a lower risk of developing certain health conditions. This includes fewer ulcers and arthritis.
