Gingivitis Symptoms Guide

A person with receding gingiva could be suffering from gingivitis. When the gum tissue around a person’s teeth wears or pulls away from the tooth, it is called receding gums. Many people with receding gingivitis are unaware of the condition because there are no other symptoms. A person with receding gums will notice that they have longer teeth, exposed roots and loose teeth. The most common cause of receding gingivitis in the general population is periodontal and gingivitis. Early on, gingivitis can cause receding gums that are not always painful. The fact that the gums recede after a period of loss can be an indication of gingivitis. Inflammation and infection caused by plaque buildup can cause gum tissue to recede, die, or wear out.
