Health Benefits of Branched Chain Amino Acids and Where they Can be Found

Improves Insulin Sensitivity

In some studies, despite the need for further research, it was found that regular consumption of branched chain amino acids actually improved insulin sensitivity. Two essential amino acids, isoleucine and leucine, increase insulin secretion. The muscles are also influenced by them, causing them to absorb more sugar from the blood. This lowers blood sugar. As diabetes becomes more prevalent and people are forced to constantly monitor their blood sugar levels, adding BCAAs to one’s diet could help prevent diabetes or alleviate certain problems. It is important to note that the effects of branched-chain amino acids on the body can vary depending on what kind of diet you consume. If people want to increase their insulin sensitivity they should include BCAAs in a diet that is already designed to reduce blood sugar.
