How to Treat Blepharitis Effectively

Eyelid Massage

Eyelid hygiene is important. Eyelid massage is beneficial because it helps patients push out the oily fluid from their meibomian ducts. Blepharitis can be triggered by this. When the eyes are closed, patients should place one or two fingers on each eyelid and gently massage them. They should instead move their fingertips gently toward the edge of their eyes. It is this action that will allow oil to escape from the glands, away from the eyes. It is helpful to repeat the massage 5-10 times daily.
