Japanese inventions that changed the way we live and travel

21. Push Notification Glasses

What is it? Glasses that connect to your smartphone
Invented: 2014
Average price:$399*

These glasses, made by Fun’iki and called Ambient Glasses Digital eyewear, are really cool. The glasses connect to your iPhone or Android via Bluetooth (similarly to wireless headphones). The glasses will let you know via LEDs and sound signals if there is a meeting or message on your phone.

The glasses are available in a variety of design options. Six full-color LEDs and a mini-speaker provide the audio. The Fun’iki app is required. It is a lithium-ion rechargeable battery.

This Japanese version is unique in that it only sends push notifications. You won’t be constantly bombarded with digital information (unlike Google Glasses).
