Face masks are not new in Japan. Many Japanese companies make face masks to lift the face. Facewaver, for example, is a face mask that is worn five minutes per day to supposedly tighten your cheeks and smooth out wrinkles.
This mask is very popular in Japan, even though it looks like it belongs on Silence of the Lambs. These masks can be hand-washed and are made from a mixture of nylon and polyurethane.
