Microneedling: Health Benefits

Prevents Premature Skin Aging

Microneedling also prevents premature skin ageing. Microneedling increases the production of collagen which gives the skin its elasticity. As elasticity decreases, wrinkles and lines develop.

In 2018, a review detailed a study that involved 48 participants aged between 35 and 75 years. Over 150 days, four treatment sessions were conducted. The participants saw significant reductions in wrinkles and fine lines. The participants also saw an improvement in the laxity of their skin. Further research indicates that microneedling could be more effective when combined with conditioned medium (CM) made from human embryonic-stem cell (hESC), derived endothelial precursor cell (EPC).

A 2014 study examining the effects of microneedling on skin rejuvenation among female participants showed promising results. Researchers used saline and hESC EPC CM along with 0.25-millimeter rollers on the faces of women. The treatment sessions were held every two weeks. The microneedling in combination with the hESC EPC CM resulted in better results.
