The 20 Best Office Skills to Include in Your Resume for a Job Interview

8. Social Media Savvy

The new resume requirement is social media knowledge. You should not apply for social media marketing jobs if you cannot handle being on Facebook, Twitter Instagram and LinkedIn at the same time.

Social media has become a vital part of the modern workplace. You probably spend more time than you realize on these sites. How will you use these sites if you don’t want to?

Most people on social media are guilty of using their accounts excessively or posting things that they didn’t intend to share. You can avoid this by not posting something or not responding to someone’s comments on your post.

9. Graphic Design

Graphic design is an artistic and creative field. It is the use of images, typefaces and photographs to convey information. The graphic designer is responsible for the visual appearance of a service or product. They create concepts for logos, advertisements, websites, and other marketing material. You can also use your graphic design skills in a resume if you are good at it.

10. IM/Email Savvy

You must include email and instant messaging skills on your resume if you are applying for a position that requires them.

Email and instant messaging are used by many companies as part of the business process. You will be able to get a job if you can prove your proficiency with these media.

11. Presenting with Keynote or Powerpoint

Keynote and Powerpoint have become the most widely used presentation software. You already know how they work if you’ve used them in class.

You can find free online tutorials or ask your professor if you need help.

You can use presentations in many ways. They can help you communicate with your audience or organize your thoughts into a logical sequence. Or they can help you share information about you and your abilities.

12. Time Management

Include time management as one of your essential skills on your resume. You can land interviews by managing your time and you won’t waste any of the limited hours you have.

Use a planner as much as you can, especially for organizing appointments or trips. You can set reminders to make sure you don’t miss anything.

List the tasks you need to do each day, every week and every month. This will help you not get overwhelmed with too many tasks at once.

Plan your day so that you can get things done early in the morning, or even before you leave.
