Eye Contact
The girl and Maria briefly met eyes when Maria was about to reach her seat. The girl stared at Maria in a disapproving, arrogant manner. She continued to walk, her trolley still in her rear view mirror, and felt relieved when she passed the strange girl.
This feeling did not last very long.
