Davis had a revelation after examining the model of car in question. It dawned upon him that, given its recent release, only a year before, there was a high probability that the vehicle had been bought brand new at a dealership, or, had had, no more than one previous owner. This would allow him to narrow his list of possible leads.
Even more shocking was the fact that only 250 of these brand new units were sold or advertised for sale in his state and its neighboring states. Davis saw a small ray of hope in this limited number.
