Health Benefits of Branched Chain Amino Acids and Where they Can be Found

Decreases Muscle Soreness

Muscle soreness is a common side effect of exercise. The soreness that can occur after a workout is often so unbearable that people will not exercise again. The branched-chain amino acids are known to be able to reduce muscle pain. It is believed that they do this by lowering the blood level of enzymes such as creatine kinase, and lactate dehydrogenase. These enzymes damage the muscle so that they can be rebuilt in larger forms. They also tend to do more harm than is necessary. BCAAs work by limiting the blood flow to these enzymes. This reduces muscle pain. They can recover much faster and continue working out the next day.
